KaiOS is FASTER: How to double the RAM using a Swapfile (512MB + 512MB = 1GB) to improve performance

Why a swapfile on KaiOS? Zram is swap as a compressed ramdisk - fast but it's reserving about half of the physical RAM (practically while using your device convinced to have 512 MB of RAM available in reality you are using only 256, or even less considering the system processes). If you use a swapfile instead of zram you have more physical RAM for caches and usable RAM is also bigger (apps aren't killed for low-memory as often as without swap).

KaiScr: screenshots and screen mirror for KaiOS - video by Farooq for THE CONTEST - EPISODE1

This video is the first one for THE CONTEST, an opportunity for each of you to share your ideas through our official channel that spreads the secrets of KaiOS.

This video tutorial is released by Farooq Karimi Zadeh, from Iran.

In this video Farooq shows you usage of his scripts kailive.py and kaiscr.py for mirroring screen of KaiOS devices and to take screenshots. The video has been recorded under Linux and everything have been done there but the scripts should work on Windows and Mac OS X(with Python and Gtk installed), too. Hope you enjoy it.

The requirements for the uploaded videos are:
1- an idea of public utility;
2- the video must be in English (whether it is spoken or reproduced artificially, the important thing is that it is understandable), or if the video is silent, at least written indications must appear on the screen to make the passages more understandable;
3- with the video in which there is speech, a simple text file containing everything that is said in the video must be included, in order to facilitate the automatic synchronization of the subtitles, for when I'll upload the video. This text must not contain capital letters at the beginning of each word, except to write a Name or an Abbreviation, in order to facilitate the automatic translation of the subtitles (I will verify myself by comparing the text with Italian);
4- optionally, you can send a text file with a description containing your blog or link to donate.

KaiOS is a new operating system for ARM chipsets, running on a Linux kernel. It is written in Javascript, HTML and CSS and is oriented towards smart feature phones. In fact, it works well on 512 MiB of RAM or less. Some of the most popular KaiOS phones are the Nokia 8110 4G, 2720 Flip and 800 Tough, Jio Phone, Positivo P70S, Orange Sanza and other new Energizer phones.
Kaiostech recently partnered with Mozilla, the creator of Firefox OS and the Gecko engine on which KaiOS is based.
