Operating natively on Windows, Linux, and macOS, OpenMW is already a near-perfect, fully functional replacement of the original engine and provides a stable gaming experience with many QoL improvements for the player. It also supports most Morrowind mods except for those relying on the Morrowind Script Extender (MWSE). The TES3MP fork of the project enables native multiplayer support. The engine uses the OpenMW-Lua framework to expand OpenMW's modding capabilities far beyond anything that was possible in the original engine. While it is similar to MWSE in nature, its implementation is quite distinct and incompatible with MWSE. OpenMW is bundled with its own editor, OpenMW-CS, which will eventually allow developers to create not only mods but also their own games in the OpenMW engine.
